Clarion Housing Group welcomes new Chief Information Officer Ian Woosey

Ian Woosey PictureClarion Housing Group is welcoming Ian Woosey who has been appointed to the newly created role of Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Ian is an experienced CIO who has worked in technology leadership, consulting and retail operations roles during his career, often leading large scale programmes.  Prior to joining Clarion, Ian was CIO for the food distribution company Brakes, and before that he was CIO at Carpetright.

Effective exploitation of new technologies alongside appropriate investment will be critical to Clarion’s success over the coming years.  The business understands the power of technology and the digital landscape, and is keen to ensure that we are leading the field in this area.  Ian will enable it to build on the strong foundations that it already has to establish highly capable business-facing IT, Business Solutions and Data & Business Intelligence functions to support the ongoing execution of Clarion’s business strategy.  It will also prepare Clarion for the first phase of the roll-out of its ground-breaking business-wide Enterprise Resource Planning platform later this year, and ensure that full value is derived from the investment in that environment.

Ian said of his appointment: “I’ve been really impressed by the commitment to investing in technology that Clarion has shown, right from the top of the business.  That’s a very encouraging place to start as CIO.  I look forward applying my experience of customer facing businesses to help Clarion take a game changing strategic role within the sector.  There are huge opportunities for housing associations to benefit from further digitisation and ‘The Internet of Things’, and this will be a key area of focus for us.”
