On the 25th March, the Regulator of Social Housing announced that it was awarding Clarion Housing Group the highest possible ratings for governance and viability. Clarion retains its G1,V1 status following an in depth assessment (IDA) by the regulator at the start of 2020.
This is the second time in a row that Clarion has been awarded the status and complements a number of significant achievements by the group in the last six months.
- In November 2019 Clarion became the first housing association in the country to adopt a new Pan European Certified Sustainable Housing Label
- In December 2019 we announced the completion of a record 691 new homes in the first half of FY 2019/20, an increase of 65% on the previous year
- In January 2020 Clarion raised £350 million from a bond issue, breaking the record for the lowest interest rate for a primary bond issuance by a housing association
Clare Miller, Group Chief Executive commented
“I am delighted the regulator has again awarded Clarion the highest possible rating for governance and viability. Their verdict underlines our strength as an organisation and is a recognition of the hard work, professionalism and achievements of all our staff.
Our focus in the coming weeks and months is to do everything we can to keep our staff and residents safe during the coronavirus emergency. Once we come through this epidemic as a country, Clarion is in a strong position to continue to build new homes, invest in our communities and play our part in meeting the housing crisis.”
