Clarion Housing Group launches Community Grants Programme 2017

Clarion Housing Group has launched this year’s Community Grants Programme which has a fund of £75,000 for this phase. The newly merged group is inviting charities, community organisations and voluntary groups from across the country to apply for grants to deliver projects which benefit its residents and the wider community.

The programme will be managed by environmental charity Groundwork UK on behalf of Clarion.   Funding will be awarded by four regional panels made up of staff and residents in the East, North (including Midlands & South West), London and South.

Organisations and projects which benefit, engage or support residents and their local communities can apply.

Applications can be made from 21st April - 19th May and successful applicants will be informed in July.

The Community Grants Programme, which is committed to maximising life chances for residents, will award grants of between £1,000 and £5,000. Last year’s programme funded 35 different projects based around community engagement, education and training, green spaces and environment, and health and wellbeing.

Phil Miles, Director of Community Investment at Clarion Housing Group said: “Last year we funded 35 projects across the country supporting and inspiring residents of all ages. With more residents this year than ever before we hope the programme will continue to make a positive difference in our local communities.”

Graham Duxbury, Groundwork’s national CEO, said: “The Community Grants Programme has helped bring tenants together to develop plans and apply for funding for a wide-range of small community projects that make a big difference where they live."

"It’s been exciting to see the range of projects that have already applied for funding and we’re very much looking forward to helping even more residents benefit from the scheme over the next 12 months.”
