On Saturday 5th August, members of the Clarion Housing Group team took part in Brighton Pride to celebrate our commitment to Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) inclusion for our staff and, crucially, for those who access our services.
This year, our float theme was ‘House of Love’, including plenty of hearts and cupids as our team certainly made themselves contenders for the loudest and proudest float!
It couldn’t have been a more perfect day for this year’s Brighton Pride, which saw the parade bathed in sunshine as it snaked its way from the seafront to Preston Park, where the main element of the festival take place.
After visiting Brighton Pride for the first time, Alozie Ohuonu, Technical Surveyor for Clarion Housing Group commented;
"The atmosphere in Brighton was electric; I couldn’t believe the buzz and how many people there were."
"We all donned cupid wings and face paint and lots of glitter and got ready to dance the whole way round. We had a great DJ on board our float that got everyone dancing as we passed by. The first part of the route along the seafront was great as it was such a nice day and the sea was so blue. So many people lined the route to wave and cheer as we passed, it was great fun."
The Brighton Pride Festival is a glittering and truly inclusive community celebration that delivers an unforgettable day of Pride. For more information and to check out other events taking place, visit https://www.brighton-pride.org/.
