Clarion Housing Group promotes Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
We train our managers in unconscious bias as part of our commitment to ensuring equality of opportunity for all. This is on top of the training we provide to our people on diversity and inclusion.
We’ve several staff networks that provide support for colleagues. These include networks for:
- colleagues from ethnic minorities
- those with disabilities or long-term health conditions
- LGBTQIA+ colleagues
- people facing gender-related issues.
More than one in five of our staff are from ethnic minorities, reflecting the diversity of the communities we serve. Women make up 55% of our workforce, and our Group Executive Team has equal numbers of men and women.
Our Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group monitors our progress against agreed targets. It also reviews new initiatives.
“I’m committed to continue to build a workplace where everyone feels valued, can be themselves and know they can reach their full potential.”
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion are part of our DNA and extend beyond our people and the residents we look after.
Having a commitment to equality and diversity is a key factor when we are choosing companies to work with.
And we work with our suppliers and contractors to promote diversity and inclusion.

Our diversity is a strength. It means we’re representative of our residents as well as the country we live in.
Mutual respect for all individuals underpins our culture, and we don’t tolerate discrimination in any form.
We celebrate our differences through our involvement in various initiatives such as Diversity Week and Black History Month as well as webinars with external speakers.
We belong to various bodies and employer schemes promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion:
- Business Disability Forum
- Disability Confident
- Housing Diversity Network
