Clarion delivers 100% affordable housing scheme in Walthamstow

An £11m all-affordable housing development in Walthamstow has been completed.

Calver Court, Clarion Housing’s latest project in Waltham Forest, replaces a former sheltered housing scheme with 27 well-sized flats for affordable rent, including three wheelchair adapted homes.

Located on Radbourne Crescent, Walthamstow, the development includes a mixture of one- and two-bedroom apartments and three-and four-bedroom maisonettes with outdoor patio space. 

Commitment to delivering affordable housing

Waltham Forest Council Cabinet member for economic growth and housing delivery, Councillor Simon Miller, said:

“Calver Court is an excellent example of how a 100 per cent affordable rent scheme can be built for local residents needing a decent roof over their heads."

“The Council works with partners such as Clarion Housing to provide high quality homes to meet the needs of families as well as those without children."

"These new homes help us achieve our aim of half the new homes across the borough being affordable, as over the next 10 years we have to build around 18,000 new homes, which can only be achieved by working with partners.” 

Clarion’s track record in Walthamstow

The project was granted planning permission by the council in late 2015 and work on site started in 2017.

Clarion Housing Group, the UK’s largest social landlord, has a strong track record of developing new homes in the borough including, most notably, its 350-home Banbury Park scheme on Billet Road which recently completed.
