Leatherhead estate transformation given the go ahead

Clarion Housing Group granted planning permission by Mole Valley District Council to build 36 affordable homes for at Kingston House Gardens.

Plans to breathe new life into a housing estate in Leatherhead were this month (July) given the green light by the local authority.

Clarion Housing Group, the UK’s largest social landlord, was granted full planning permission by Mole Valley District Council to build 36 new high-quality homes for affordable rent and shared ownership at Kingston House Gardens.

The plans include replacing poor quality 1960s bedsits with a mix of modern one- and two-bedroom apartments along with three-bedroom houses. The new scheme will also deliver parking facilities, cycle storage and green space.

Tim Sargeant, Head of Regeneration at Clarion, said:

“At Clarion we are passionate about creating sustainable communities that will serve families today and generations to come."

“This project will bring much needed family housing to the area and will complement the wider regeneration in Leatherhead, which is being delivered by Mole Valley District Council.”

Clarion is now selecting a contractor to build the homes, with the aim of starting on site by early 2020.
