Clarion Futures hosts Virtual Learning Series featuring expert speakers

Clarion Futures launches events focusing on learnings and insights that have emerged from the pandemic.

Following the success of live events delivered by Clarion Futures, our charitable foundation, earlier this year, we are launching a Virtual Learning Series featuring a varied and interesting line-up of presenters who will share their expertise and knowledge.

Taking place on four consecutive Mondays in June and July, the events will focus on topics including intergenerational living, digital inclusion and co-design, with particular reflection on learning and insights emerging from the current pandemic.

Programme of events

The full programme is as follows:

15 June, 4-5pm: Maintaining Intergenerational Connections in Crisis presented by InCommon

InCommon will explore how we can learn from intergenerational projects established both before and during lockdown to ensure we maintain and embed intergenerational connections as we emerge from the crisis.

22 June, 4-5pm: Virtual by (co) Design: Innovative collaboration in a virtual world; co-designing a response to loneliness and isolation presented by Liminal Labs

In this session Louise and Adam from Liminal Labs will explain how virtual co-design approaches can find collaborative solutions to the challenges communities are facing and share insights from the recent Virtual Pop-Up Lab they ran with residents, Clarion staff and community-based organisations.

29 June, 4-5pm: The Digital Divide and COVID-19 presented by Dr Grant Blank, Oxford University Internet Institute

Using data from the annual Oxford University internet data survey, Dr Blank will interrogate what the findings mean as we move through the current pandemic, challenging what connectivity and digital inclusion looks like in this period and beyond.

6 July, 4-5pm: Generational Perspectives – Data Trends during the Pandemic presented by Ipsos Mori

In this session Suzanne Hall from Ipsos Mori will reflect on generational experiences and responses to the pandemic using data collected from Ipsos Mori's weekly worldwide survey which has been conducted over the lockdown period.

These events are free and open to all Clarion partners to access with time allocated for questions during each session.
