Clarion publishes early findings of its annual resident survey showing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic
Survey to find out more about residents’ needs took place almost a month into lockdown.
Clarion has today published some of the early findings from its annual resident survey, the Clarion Index.
Each year Clarion surveys a representative sample of 2,000 of its residents through an independent research company.
The survey aims to find out more about our residents’ needs so that we can shape and target the services we deliver accordingly. This year we added questions specifically around the pandemic to get a better idea of the impacts on our residents’ employment status, mental and physical health and finances.
Highlights from survey
The survey took place almost a month into lockdown. Overall, most Clarion residents showed resilience - 86% said that they were coping well and the findings also suggest that some groups, including the elderly, had been well cared for.
Some findings however have prompted us to strengthen our efforts in some areas. For instance, we saw that while the number of people furloughed was in line with the national average (27%), for younger Clarion residents aged 18-24 this figure rises to 38%.
Clarion has set-up a Kickstart Housing Network, to identify and galvanise the interest of housing providers in the Government’s Kickstart Scheme, which will create hundreds of thousands of work placements for 16 to 24-year olds.
