First residents move into new homes at Ravensbury Grove following regeneration by Clarion Housing Group
Clarion and United Living New Homes have delivered 21 homes for residents in Merton.
The first residents have moved into their new homes at Ravensbury Grove in Merton, marking a major milestone in a £1.3bn regeneration project being delivered by Clarion Housing Group, the UK’s largest provider of affordable housing.
21 homes for social rent with private outdoor spaces have been delivered by Clarion and contractor, United Living New Homes, in this first phase, providing high quality new homes for existing residents.
Ongoing work at Ravensbury will deliver a further 180 new homes, more than half of which will be for social rent. Residents will also benefit from a new community centre, better vehicle and pedestrian access and improved public realm, including lots of trees and green spaces.
2,800 new homes planned
The recently completed work is part of Clarion’s £1.3bn regeneration project set to enhance the London Borough of Merton. The scheme will deliver 2,800 new high quality homes, including 740 social rented homes, and 9,000m2 of commercial and community space across the three neighbourhoods of High Path in South Wimbledon and Ravensbury and Eastfields in Mitcham.
All existing residents will be rehoused in homes of an appropriate size, dealing with existing overcrowding. Over 200 of the new homes are ear-marked for existing resident homeowners, in an innovative offer allowing them a new home at no additional cost on a full freehold or leasehold basis.

An Important milestone

“As with the wider regeneration planned for High Path and Eastfields, these families will have a much better quality of life, accommodation and community spaces.”
