Update on the Eastfields estate

Clarion’s statement on the recent stories about the Eastfields estate.

There have been a number of recent stories in the media relating to the Eastfields estate in Merton. We're speaking directly to our residents to address these issues, but we also wanted to provide some context for a wider audience.

Update: 28 June

There are cases at the Eastfields Estate in Merton where we have fallen short of the standards our residents have a right to expect. We have apologised for this and are committed to putting this right.

Our immediate priority has been to dedicate more staff to the estate and increase the speed at which we complete both communal and individual repairs.

In the week commencing 14 June, we opened an extra office on the estate, which allows residents to walk in to report repairs and discuss with colleagues on site.

We worked with our contractor (Engie) to appoint a supervisor to work exclusively at Eastfields, to help specify and oversee the completion of works.

On Friday 25 and Saturday 26 June, we conducted two “estate days” and met our commitment to knock on the door of every resident on the estate. This has helped us to identify where more work needs to take place.

We are listening to our tenants will continue to prioritise repairs and do all we can to ensure residents in Eastfields are comfortable in their homes.
