Clarion Housing Group named as new Strategic Partner for Homes England and commits to 2,000 new affordable homes for London

Clarion will play a significant role in accelerating affordable homes across England.

Clarion Housing Group has been named as a new Strategic Delivery Partner by Homes England.

As the government continues to deliver its affordable homes programme, Clarion Housing Group will play a significant role in accelerating affordable homes across England, in the most economically sustainable communities.

Today’s announcement by Homes England lists Clarion among a broader range of partners than ever before, including 31 housing associations. Clarion’s partnership with Homes England brings even closer alignment of Clarion’s strategic growth aims and investment in Modern Methods of Construction, urban regeneration and the further development of garden communities.

“We are committed to playing our part in tackling the housing crisis and we are very pleased to be selected as a strategic delivery partner by Homes England.”

In a separate announcement, the Greater London Authority has announced it will provide £240m in grants to support Clarion in delivering 2,000 new affordable homes in London between 2021-26, of which 1,250 will be homes for social rent. Of all the 53 GLA partners (which comprise housing associations and local authorities), Clarion will deliver the highest volume of homes and the highest number for social rent.

Clare Miller, group chief executive of Clarion Housing Group, said:

“We are committed to playing our part in tackling the housing crisis and we are very pleased to be selected as a strategic delivery partner by Homes England. We delivered over 2,100 new homes last year and this partnership is highly valuable to Clarion, providing certainty and flexibility of funding as we grow our long-term development programme”
