Green light for Latimer’s 165-home scheme in Cheshire

Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group, will deliver 165-home scheme in Sandbach, Cheshire.

Work on a 165-home scheme in Sandbach, Cheshire, will get underway next month after the scheme was granted detailed planning permission

Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group, will deliver 116 homes for private sale, 32 homes for affordable rent and 17 homes for shared ownership on the Abbey Road site. The scheme includes a mix of two-bedroom apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses.

Abbey Road is the Group’s second significant new development in the North West and follows the recent start on site in Salford Quays where 272 new apartments are being built.

Richard White, Director of Land & Planning for Latimer and Clarion, said:

“We want to deliver 50,000 new homes nationwide over ten years and the North West is a major priority for us. We are actively looking to acquire land by ourselves or in partnership, which can be turned into high quality housing, as we have done at Sandbach and Salford Quays."

“We are delighted to receive planning permission on our Abbey Road scheme which will deliver much-needed new homes for the area.”

Delivering high quality housing

Latimer has appointed Cheshire-based firm the Lane End Group to build the homes on the 23-acre site in Sandbach.

Richard Harrison, Managing Director of Lane End Group, said:

“This is a great example of the unison we have forged with Clarion Housing Group and we are proud to secure this exciting scheme. Lane End are committed to their partnership approach and we hope this will be the first of many projects we develop together.”
