Clarion Housing Group’s response to the Government’s Levelling-Up White Paper
The government has today published its flagship Levelling-Up White Paper, setting out a plan to transform the UK by spreading opportunity and prosperity to all parts of it.
Clare Miller, Chief Executive of Clarion Housing Group commented:
“We welcome the ambition of the government to do more to help some of our least affluent places and communities. As a social landlord, Clarion has worked to support people in these communities for decades.
For the government to succeed we would like to see more support for the charitable, community and voluntary organisations with existing networks in these places, to ensure that ‘levelling-up’ is led by the community.
Clarion is embedded in our communities and helped over 2,500 people into work last year, changing lives and helping to drive the transformational change that government is seeking to achieve.”
