Clarion Housing Group announces new partnership with the NSPCC

Clarion Housing Group, the UK’s largest social landlord, has announced a new three-year corporate partnership with the NSPCC.
The announcement comes as the NSPCC marks Childhood Day on 7 June, which aims to bring people together to have fun and help keep children safe.
In the first year of the partnership, Clarion aims to raise £100,000 to support the NSPCC’s Building Connections online service for young people, which empowers them to find a way through loneliness.
Through an 11-week programme, young people up to the age of 19 work with a trained befriender who guides them and champions them each step of the way. Building Connections gives young people tools to help build their confidence and better equip them to manage loneliness.
In addition to fundraising, there will be opportunities for staff volunteering, as well as sharing expertise between the two organisations to develop and deliver strategic projects and campaigns.
To kickstart the partnership, on Childhood Day a team from Clarion will be taking part in a Dragon Boat Race on the Thames to raise vital funds. A number of offices will also host activities to help staff reconnect with their childhood, learn about the work of the NSPCC, and find out about the importance of play and how it is encouraged in Clarion communities through Clarion Futures, the organisation’s charitable foundation.
Clarion recently marked the end of a four-year partnership with St Mungo’s which raised more than £400,000 to support the charity’s work to end homelessness, with staff also giving more than 1,000 hours of volunteering time. The social landlord also provided 33 homes for St Mungo’s clients, offering a safe and supportive environment to help them as they rebuild their lives.
