Clarion Housing Group has appointed The Hill Group as the main contractor for its Clare House redevelopment in Tower Hamlets, which will deliver 145 new homes for social rent.

The scheme will provide high-quality, genuinely affordable homes for local people, supporting the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in addressing acute housing need while contributing to the wider regeneration of the area.

Improvement works to the Jasmine Park play space began in May 2026 as part of the wider regeneration programme. Following the completion of demolition works, main construction of the Clare House redevelopment is scheduled to begin in April 2027, with completion anticipated in 2029.

The appointment builds on an established relationship between Clarion and Hill Group, who have successfully partnered on a number of developments. This continued collaboration reflects a shared commitment to quality, delivery and creating sustainable communities.

Clare House has been redesigned to deliver sustainable, well-built homes that meet modern standards, with a focus on energy efficiency and long-term performance. As a 100% social rent scheme, it underlines Clarion’s commitment to prioritising the delivery of homes for those most in need.

Richard Cook, Chief Development Officer at Clarion Housing Group, said:

“Clare House is an important scheme for us and for Tower Hamlets, delivering new homes for social rent at a time when demand for genuinely affordable housing continues to grow.

“Our ongoing partnership with Hill Group gives us confidence in delivery, building on a track record of working together to bring forward high-quality developments.

“Despite the challenges facing the sector, we remain focused on maintaining momentum and working with trusted partners to deliver the homes that are most needed.”

Cain Peters, Regional Managing Director from The Hill Group, added:

“Clare House represents exactly the kind of partnership-led regeneration we are proud to deliver at Hill, creating high-quality, sustainable homes that make a lasting difference for local communities. Working alongside Clarion on this 100% social rent development reflects our shared commitment to tackling London’s housing shortage and providing genuinely affordable homes for those who need them most. We look forward to bringing this important development forward and helping to create a thriving new neighbourhood in Tower Hamlets.”
