Clarion recognised with international award for community impact
Clarion wins the International CSR Excellence Award 2026 for its community impact and support for residents across the UK.

Clarion Housing Group has been awarded the International CSR Excellence Award 2026 in the Community Commitment category, recognising its outstanding work supporting residents and strengthening communities across the UK.
The prestigious award highlights Clarion’s leadership in delivering social value and embedding sustainability and social responsibility at the heart of its strategy.
As the UK’s largest housing association with around 360,000 residents, Clarion is committed to going beyond providing homes. Its purpose is to make a meaningful difference to residents’ lives and the communities they live in.
Clarion’s approach focuses on tackling some of the UK’s most pressing social challenges, including unemployment, digital exclusion, financial hardship and loneliness. Through a workforce of more than 4,000 colleagues, it delivers a wide range of initiatives, from employability programmes and digital skills support to wellbeing spaces and money guidance, all shaped by ongoing engagement with residents and partners.
In 2024/25, Clarion delivered £130.3 million in social value, supporting thousands of people through targeted programmes focused on employment, wellbeing, financial resilience and digital inclusion. This included helping more than 1,500 people into work, supporting thousands with skills and digital training, providing tailored financial and energy advice to over 5,400 households, and delivering direct support to families experiencing hardship.
The housing association also invested significantly in grassroots initiatives, awarding over £1 million in grants to organisations making a difference locally, boosting wellbeing and creating stronger, more connected communities.
The International CSR Excellence Awards, organised by The CSR Society, celebrate organisations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to sustainability, ethical practices and social impact.
Commenting on the award, Roger Wolens, Founder of The CSR Society, said:
“Clarion exemplifies the standard of excellence we seek to recognise. Their approach demonstrates how organisations can successfully integrate sustainability into core business strategy while delivering meaningful impact for communities, the environment and stakeholders alike. This is the kind of leadership that drives real, lasting change on a global scale.”
Clare Miller, Chief Executive of Clarion Housing Group, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to receive this international recognition for our commitment to supporting residents and communities. At Clarion, our purpose is about far more than providing homes – it’s about creating opportunities, tackling inequality and helping people to thrive. This award reflects the dedication of our colleagues and partners, and the positive impact we’re making together in communities across the country.”
As part of this recognition, Clarion has been invited to achieve CSR World Leader status, feature its work in The CSR Book, and represent the UK at the Green World Awards, further cementing its position on the global stage.
This award reinforces Clarion’s ambition to be a leading force for social good, combining sustainable growth with positive outcomes for residents and communities. By continuing to invest in people, partnerships and places, the social landlord is helping to create stronger, more resilient communities and a more inclusive society for the future.
