Clarion Housing Group, the UK's largest housing association, has been awarded the coveted Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Medal after securing a sixth consecutive Gold Award, in recognition of its deep-rooted safety culture and commitment to the wellbeing of its workforce and customers.

Now in its 70th year, and with almost 2,000 entries annually from over 50 countries, the RoSPA Awards are the world's largest health and safety awards programme, recognising those organisations who have set the highest standards in accident prevention.

Each award entrant is assessed against strict criteria. Through comprehensive risk assessments, ongoing training programmes, rigorous incident reporting procedures and a learning-focused culture, Clarion has been recognised not only as a leader within the housing sector but also as a benchmark organisation for best-in-class health and safety practice across the UK.

The award was collected by Paul Johnston, Director of Health and Safety, and Deborah Saville, Head of Safety and Wellbeing, at the official ceremony held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London last week.

Paul Johnston, Director of Health and Safety at Clarion Housing Group, said:

"Six consecutive Gold Medals is a real testament to the consistency and commitment of everyone across Clarion. To achieve this in RoSPA's 70th anniversary year makes it more special. Health and safety is firmly embedded in our culture. As a legacy Gold Medal Award winner, we're delighted that Clarion has received this recognition, which reflects the commitment of both our Safety Team and front-line colleagues to making safety part of everyday working practices.

“Their dedication to continuously improving standards has helped build a strong safety culture across such a diverse organisation. We're proud of what we've achieved and remain focused on raising the bar even further."

Clarion continues to explore new ways to strengthen safety standards as part of its commitment to continuous improvement. Our Safety Team works closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure safety is relevant at every level, while also supporting residents through accessible information on our customer portal and other practical resources that help create safer homes and communities.

By embedding safety into everything we do, we're not only maintaining high standards but continually looking for new ways to make our homes, workplaces and communities even safer.
