Clarion named strategic partner to deliver affordable homes
Clarion Housing Group has secured £350 million in grant funding to deliver 2,977 much-needed new social and affordable homes across England.
The announcement, made by Homes England, sees Clarion join 32 other housing associations, councils and developers as Strategic Partners to the ten-year programme, which runs from 2026 to 2036.
"We are delighted to have been named a Strategic Partner to the Social and Affordable Homes Programme. This is a significant vote of confidence in us from the new Government. We know that our bid was assessed against our track record of delivery, and the hard work of many people has helped to achieve this success today. As the largest housing association in the country, we know what it takes to build homes at scale and to build them well, and this funding will allow us to go further and faster in helping families move from temporary accommodation into settled homes they can call their own."
As one of the largest housing associations in the country, Clarion will use the funding to build homes at scale in communities across England, with developments spanning from Manchester to Plymouth, as the organisation continues to grow its national development pipeline delivered through its development arm, Latimer.

With councils grappling with record numbers of families in temporary accommodation in England, the need for housing associations and local authorities to work together to deliver new homes has never been greater. This funding reflects the trust placed in Clarion as a delivery partner and allows the organisation to build on its established role as a long-term community maker, with Clarion remaining invested in the neighbourhoods it builds long after the last home is handed over, working alongside councils and communities to help families build better futures.
