Hannah Hulse, Tenancy Specialist

Hannah Hulse started working at Clarion Housing Group at Clarion Response, our in-house repairs and maintenance team. She now works as a Tenancy Specialist dealing with tenancy matters and giving advice to colleagues.

What is your current role?

I’m a Tenancy Specialist. My role involves dealing with high level anti-social behaviour (ASB) and tenancy fraud and complex tenancy matters and giving advice to colleagues.

How has your career developed at Clarion?

I started working as a Works Planner for Clarion Response, our in-house repairs and maintenance team. It was in this role I was supported by Clarion to complete an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration. This helped me achieve a secondment and eventually, a full-time position as a Branch Support Officer where I was given the opportunity to take an NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration.

I eventually secured the position of Neighbourhood Response Officer (NRO). Since completing my qualification, the NRO role has provided me with further training and qualification in ASB, mentoring and the opportunity to study a Chartered Institute of Housing Level 4 for Housing Management.

I am now working as a Tenancy Specialist. I believe the additional training and support to pursue these qualifications has assisted my growth within the company entirely, as well as my knowledge and confidence.

“I know my manager and colleagues are here for me. I’ve built fantastic relationships across the organisation internally and with partner agencies.”

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I love working with wonderful people. Our teams and Neighbourhood Response Officers have very difficult roles in managing ASB and do a fabulous job in dealing with serious issues and managing expectations of customers and stakeholders alike.

What advice would you give to someone looking to join your team?

Do it!

There are so many opportunities to learn and grow. The line managers are so supportive, and the team are always on hand to give advice and to help. It’s not always a ‘sunshine and daisies’, as we often have to manage expectations that people find difficult to understand, but at the end of the day, I know my manager and colleagues are here for me.

I’ve built fantastic relationships across the organisation internally and with partner agencies.
