What is your current role ?

Nicole Turner won Clarion Housing Group’s Apprentice of the Year award in 2015. She’s since gone on to become a contract surveyor in the Mechanical and Engineering department.

I’m a contract surveyor within the M&E (Mechanical and Engineering) department. I deal with the day-to-day managing of the service contracts for white goods, laundry, medical and line faults/telemetry (everything BT related).

How has your career developed with Clarion?

I started out as an apprentice within M&E as a Contracts Administrator. I assisted the contract surveyor at the time. In 2015 I completed my apprenticeship and was fortunate enough to win the Apprentice of the year award. I saved Clarion a significant amount of money during this year, which helped me secure a full-time position as a contract surveyor. 5 years on, I’ve widened my knowledge, experience and been supported to take on multiple day courses as well as a degree.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy going to site and being able to get out of the office from time to time.

What is your favourite work memory?

My favourite work memory has to be winning the Apprentice of the Year award. It was a great achievement.

What advice would you give to someone looking to join your team?

This is a great department to join. Working in M&E will allow you to gain knowledge on what we do and all the different types of assets Clarion have.
