Hundreds of young people in Bradford benefit from Clarion Futures sports project
Clarion Futures Youth Sports is funded by Comic Relief and delivered by Clarion Futures, the charitable foundation of Clarion Housing Group.
More than 400 young people in Bradford have benefited from a project which is designed to help to reduce antisocial behaviour through physical activity.
Clarion Futures Youth Sports - which has been funded by Comic Relief and delivered by Clarion Futures, the charitable foundation of Clarion Housing Group - provides 11- to 19-year-olds in the area with opportunities to learn new skills through volunteering, work experience and accredited training.
Since the programme began in 2016, more than 200 young people have achieved qualifications in first aid, dance and other activities and around 150 young people attended regular sports sessions including football and rugby.
Clarion Futures has also organised a number of 'residential' trips to other parts of the country, including most notably a five-day sailing trip in Portsmouth.
Sarah Faulkner, Project Coordinator for Clarion Futures, said:
"This project is all about providing new opportunities for young people. The programme has had a great impact on the young people in the area and has been very successful in bringing the community closer together."
Clarion Futures has delivered the project in partnership with e:merge, Bradford City Community Foundation, Dunnett’s Fitness, Bradford College, PEACE Sports and Horsfall Community Trust.
