Our suppliers help us to deliver social value for our residents and make a positive environmental impact.
Working with suppliers and contractors
Clarion Housing Group works with more than 3,000 suppliers and contractors who help us in our mission to provide homes for those who need them most.
We use our buying power to drive social change. Delivering social value and making positive environmental impacts are key criteria for our major contracts.
Policies, procedures and contractual requirements are in place to ensure there’s no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chain.
And all our suppliers sign up to our code of conduct.

Adding value
Each year, our contractors do hundreds of things to help our residents. These include providing apprenticeships or training sessions, donating equipment, and refurbishing community buildings.
Social value in action
Our scale enables us to deliver significant social value, transforming the lives of our residents and strengthening communities. Working closely with like-minded suppliers, we create impactful initiatives that maximises every pound spent and unlocks opportunities for our residents.
In our latest Social Value Delivery Report, we celebrate the contributions of our supply-chain partners in 2024/25 and showcase the positive difference they made to our residents and communities.
Sustainability
We’re working with our supply chain to reduce waste, use less energy and water, and increase recycling and the use of sustainable materials.
Our suppliers and contractors are supporting our efforts to reduce carbon emissions and reach net zero by 2050. And our major contractors – Engie, Wates, and United Living – have to meet targets for levels of carbon emissions and waste.
Our Sustainable Development Roadmap sets out our expectations of companies we work with in building new homes.
